OPM started as two separate companies, Peter Milne Furniture Makers in 1977 and Osiris Furniture Makers in 1985. After years of successful making and often competing for the same work we decided to merge the companies, bringing both sets of clients and expertise together to form OPM Furniture and secure a strong future. Over our 37 years of experience we have worked with some of the worlds most internationally renowned designers. We have come a long way from starting businesses out of Furniture College, but you will still find us alongside the river Thames in South London, maintaining the same values of quality, craftsmanship and service we always have and still under the directorship of our three original founders:
David is responsible for production and quality control at OPM. He graduated from the London College of Furniture in 1981, and between 1980 and 1983 he worked as a furniture maker for Heals, Cabochon Furniture and Peter Milne Furniture Makers. In 1983 David joined The Crown Suppliers and worked there until 1985 when Osiris formed. His role at Osiris was production manager and he has continued this role from 2004 when Osiris merged with Peter Milne Furniture Makers.
David is responsible for marketing and sales at OPM. After graduating from the London College of Furniture in 1981 he joined Peter Milne as a furniture maker until 1985 when he became a partner and ran production until 1998. When Peter Milne left the UK, David took over running the business until 2004 when Peter Milne Furniture Makers merged with Osiris. From this point he has looked after marketing and sales alongside developing new products with industrial designer, Jonathan Prestwich.
